Each year, the staff and management of Advance Commercial Movers come together to support local not-for profit organizations. During the fall of 2004 the company donated several trucks and drivers to Island Harvest for its annual fall food drive. Drivers pick up and deliver large public food donations from across Long Island over the course of several weeks.
Since 1992, Island Harvest has been serving as the bridge between those who have excess food and those who need it. With a trained corps of dedicated volunteers, Island Harvest rescues surplus food from commercial donors and collects canned and packaged foods from collection campaigns. Food is donated to hundreds of community-based non-profit organizations, which results in a reduction of their food expenses.
“The New York metropolitan area is a wonderful place to do business. However, we know that there are many people and children who are not well off. For this reason, we are proud to have the opportunity to support organizations such as Island Harvest,” said Jim Molloy President and CEO of Advance Commercial Movers.
